Briefing

Detailed participant briefing:
Imagine the work-life balance of a self-employed woman with a family. It is very challenging for female entrepreneurs to combine family, work and their own free time without cutting back. That's why we, a group of master students from the University of Innsbruck, are working together with HYVE Crowd and Frau in der Wirtschaft of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO).

Your task is to generate ideas to improve the work-life balance of female entrepreneurs with families in Austria.
From a first idea sketch to a fully developed concept - every contribution is appreciated and helpful! Your proposals should include a detailed description of how the compatibility of family and career can be sustainably improved for female entrepreneurs through your ideas. Therefore, please describe the specific problem which your approach can help to solve as well as your solution to this problem. In particular, we are looking for ideas that do not require additional monetary benefits.

In the first stage of the project, we identified problems through interviews with the target group. Based on these, we have formulated questions for which we are now looking for solutions. We would like to answer the following questions through this challenge:

  • What is needed to improve the compatibility of family and work for female entrepreneurs with children in Austria?
  • How can a cultural change be brought about to support working parents, break down traditional role models and achieve equal opportunities?
  • How can childcare be improved to achieve a better work-life balance for women entrepreneurs?
  • How can women entrepreneurs with families in rural areas be supported?

Additional questions for guidance and inspiration:

  • What problem does your idea solve?
  • For which target group is your approach helpful?
  • How does your approach improve the work-life balance of female entrepreneurs with families in Austria?
  • What does it take to implement your approach?

Please note that this challenge is specifically about self-employed women in Austria.
